This role of Electronics Design Engineer is an ideal opportunity for a highly credible person looking to make a difference and an immediate impact, in an exciting and challenging environment. Based in Redditch, Worcestershire Arrowvale Electronics is a well–established privately–owned expert in the design and manufacture of monitoring and recording equipment for the rail industry.

Main duties:

  • Hands–on electronics design and development, including schematics and PCB layout
  • Close working with firmware and mechanical engineers on your design
  • Design, optimisation, test and debug of your prototypes
  • Creation of technical documentation and reports to support your product
  • Support end–customers if required on technical issues related to your design

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of analogue and digital electronics board–level design experience
  • Experience designing products with embedded microprocessors
  • Electronic CAD schematic and PCB layout design
  • Use of standard lab test equipment
  • Design verification testing and debugging of electronic circuits
  • Creation of technical documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Pro–activity
  • Attention to detail
  • Team working
  • Multi–tasking and ability to work under pressure

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience of taking products into mass production a distinct advantage
  • Altium experience would be a benefit
  • Practical experience of applying standard engineering practices such as gated review processes and change control.
  • Customer–facing skills
  • Interest in trains?
